Setup, Maintenance, & Repairs

Instruments need to be maintained regularly.

Fingerboards get worn, bridges warp, and bows need new hair. Seams separate, sound-posts move, and pegs slip. Unnecessary playing damage can be avoided by bringing your instrument in to the shop for regular maintenance. I will check it over, correct any problems, clean it up, and bring it back to peak condition.

Every instrument needs to be repaired eventually.

Accidents are a part of life. I specialize in fixing damage, disguising repairs, and retouching superficial marks and scuffs.

Instruments change, and need to be adjusted to fit your needs

Wood is not a static substance. When the temperature and humidity changes, your instrument changes. The demands you make of your instrument may change too. I will tailor your instrument's setup, bridge, and soundpost to match your needs and playing style.
